Fishing
Turks and Caicos Fishing
Updatd February 6, 2009
DeepSea
Provo’s water goes as deep as three
thousand feet right at the drop off, allowing you to go sport-fishing very close
to shore. In April the Turks and Caicos waters offer excellent fishing for Mahi
Mahi, Wahoo, King
Fish, Sailfish. There are a number of boats on Provo available for hire.
Captain Arthur Dean, who has been featured on the ESPN2 show
"Fish-on" operates Silver Deep- http://www.silverdeep.com.
Their primary boat is a 40ft. Egg Harbor sport fisherman. You can contact them
directly or through the excursion desk at Club Med.

Bone
Fishing
Turks and
Caicos Islandsbonefishing is extraordinary.
Comparable to Bahamas
bonefishing, famous for the smokey mud clouds blooming in the turquoise sea as
they feed, bonefish roam the shallow Caicos banks all year round, making Turks
and Caicos a bonefishing haven. Local Knowledge has not personally gone out
with any local guides but there are a number available on Provo. Captain Arthur Dean of Silver Deep is
a popular recommendation- http://www.silverdeep.com. Contact directly or through
the excursion desk at Club Med.
Note the following excerpt from The Bahamas
Fly-fishing Guide by Kim Vletas- "Arthur is a superior guide in every way--knowledge of the flats,
boating handling skills, excellent casting instructor, amazing eyes, fun to be
with, and a great singer... He fishes out of an immaculate Action Craft with a
115 hp Yamaha 4-stroke, a great boat, and super fast for reaching the remote
locations around North, Middle, and East Caicos.
Arthur also has two other very good guides, Godfrey and Darin, so don't
hesitate to fish with them if Arthur is booked--which he usually is, so you
need to call well in advance to make your reservation, and Silver Deep will
give you a discount for advance bookings. Silver Deep offers full and half day
trips. Be aware that half day trips limit where you can go. Try not to be
shocked by the prices! TCI is very expensive and import duty on boats, parts,
etc. is brutal for the locals."
